I've been back to work for about 3 weeks now, and Bella still won't take a bottle! She is such a little stinker :) Every day Andy tries several times, but she is stubborn and won't give in. We have tried different bottles and different approaches. First of all, Andy can't even hold her and try the bottle- that makes her really mad. He has to put her in the bouncy seat and hold the bottle up for her. If Andy acts like it is a game and is funny about it, she will laugh and chew on the bottle for a little bit. But after about 10 minutes, she has had enough of the game and gets mad at him! She will cry and cry and sometimes just go to sleep because she is so upset and hungry! I get home from work and there is Andy holding Bella in the kitchen -just waiting for me to get in. I know when it's been rough because Andy is handing her over as I take off my jacket....the other clue it's been rough is that Bella will either have only one sock on or no socks at all. It means she has been so upset that she kicked her socks right off!
Sometimes in the evenings I will give Bella a bottle to "play with". My plan is that she will get used to the bottle and just start drinking! No luck yet....Here are some pictures of her playing with her bottle.
At first she's happy and plays and chews on it.
Oddly, she gets mad when milk starts coming out of the bottle - she hates it!
After a couple of minutes, she's had enough of this nonsense and she throws the bottle and gets rid of it!
Here is a video of Bella "getting to know" her bottle.
Too cute! Well not cute that she won't take a bottle, but such a sweet little voice she has! I'm so sorry she's not taking a bottle.
ReplyDeleteLittle Stinker!!
ReplyDeleteI feel for Andy, that makes a long day for him. Tell Bella that Grandma will try the bottle again when she comes next week.
