Crash

On Sunday Andy and I put up our Christmas tree and got it all decorated. It is a nice 10 foot tree from the famous Poyda Tree Farm! Monday morning I was getting ready for work, and it ran through my mind that the tree looked slightly crooked. I just thought it was the angle I was looking at it from though, and I didn't think anything more of it. I walked out of the living room and heard a crash! Of course....what else could it be except the Christmas tree?!? I ran into the living room to see that the whole tree - stand and all was tipped over and laying on the chair that you see below. I yelled for Andy to get out of bed, because I had to leave for work. I left him with the mess. I wish I would have taken a picture of the tree laying sideways, but I was in a hurry that morning. These pictures are from when I got home from work. There were ornaments on the floor, water on the carpet, needles and leaves all over the floor and chair, and it knocked decorations off of my shelves. It was inches from hitting our new TV! What a mess!

When Andy picked the tree up, the blanket I am crocheting was stuck to the tree. Don't you think it makes a nice ornament?
This is how the tree sat all day - leaned up against the wall.
Here is a picture of the tree after it was saved and redecorated. If you were looking at it in person, you would see that the branches on the right side are flat from laying against the wall all day. I just hope it doesn't crash again!

  1. I had that happen one year with one of my huge ones I used to get. I finally tied it to the stair railing...

  4. We had that happen a few years ago at my moms on Christmas Eve. We were all opening gifts and talking and the tree tipped over on the kids. Nobody got hurt, but we did all laugh as the kids were crawling out from under it.
