Hats

The last week I've expanded my horizons in the world of crocheting. About six years ago Grandma taught me how to crochet. I started out with crooked scarves, and then moved on to pot holders and baby blankets. I enjoy crocheting baby blankets, but recently I felt the need to try something new. I found a pattern on the internet for a "baby girl hat." I sat down to try it and I was done in like 30 minutes....well it ended up being a teeny tiny hat for maybe a doll, or as Joni would say the hat would fit a worm! Grandma sent me some real patterns for baby hats and I got started right away. The first night I successfully made a hat that fit Bella, but I wanted to be a little more creative. So, last night I changed up the pattern a bit and created this cute hat for Bella! (I got my inspiration from Lynn's hat for Mallory - I hope she doesn't mind!) I am so excited that I can finally make hats - I even crocheted the flower.

Here are some pictures of the hat on the babe. I couldn't choose just one picture, so I of course posted them all! Enjoy all of her different facial expressions :)

Here is a video of Bella sporting her hat...warning - she is not too happy about the video! She wasn't crabby until I started taping.

  1. Will you make me a white hat and matching scarf?? I'm being serious. I've asked you like 5 times now.

  2. That is so cute. Grandma showed me two of them she made already. I told her to make them for all the babies. I think they would be cute even on a bigger girl....like Melissa?

  3. Nope, I don't mind one bit! You did awesome! Bella is just too cute in it! I love her cry - it sounds so quiet and sweet compared to Mally.
